Accreditation/Title II
Saint Louis University’s School of Education is accredited locally and nationally, and meets certification standards in 11 areas in our traditional four-year program and 16 areas in our alternative two-year program, as outlined in Title II of the Higher Education Act.

Title II of the Higher Education Act
Title II of the Higher Education Act evaluates the academic preparation of teachers across grade levels and subjects. Saint Louis University’s School of Education certifies teachers in compliance with Title II of the Higher Education Act in the following areas:

Title II Compliance Information
In compliance with Title II of the Higher Education Act, the following information is provided to the public:
- In March 2024, Saint Louis University received the highest APR (Annual Performance Review) from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education of all EPPs (Educator Preparation Programs) in the State of Missouri with a score of 97 out of 100 points.
- During 2022-2023, 100% of Saint Louis University's undergraduate teacher education program enrolled students, who took the required state certification content test, passed.
Traditional Undergraduate Teacher Education Program
- There were 131 students enrolled in Saint Louis University's undergraduate teacher education programs during 2022-23.
- The undergraduate teacher program requires an average of 500 hours of supervised student teaching practice and 260 hours prior to student teaching.
- During 2022-2023, Saint Louis University placed 27 student teachers, who completed the program.
Alternative Graduate Teacher Education Program
- There were 53 students enrolled in Saint Louis University’s alternative teacher education programs during 2022-2023.
- The alternative teacher education program requires two years of teaching as the teacher of record in the classroom.
- During 2022-23, Saint Louis University graduated 16 students who completed alternative teacher education programs.
