02/18/25- The Boeing Institute of International Business hosted its annual Boeing Distinguished Guest Lecture Series, featuring Emmanuel Koubarakis, Consul General of Greece in Chicago, on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025. The event, titled "Unlocking Investment Opportunities in Greece," attracted a diverse audience of students, faculty, and business professionals eager to gain insights into Greece's evolving economic landscape.
02/18/25- Nominations are open for the College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Student DEI Champion Award and the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate DEI Champion Award.
02/12/25- Due to increasing security threats and concerns, Okta is in the process of removing support for voice and SMS text verification for multi-factor authentication (MFA). As a result, SLU must transition its MFA process to use the Okta Verify application.
02/11/25- The Music Program of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Saint Louis University will present pianist Kariné Poghosyan in concert. The concert takes place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, in the Xavier Hall Main Stage Theatre.
02/11/25- At the Spring 2025 Career Expo, Drive Social Media will be providing free, professional headshots to students. Business professional attire is encouraged for those wanting headshot photos.
02/10/25- The University Core will host Paul Hanstedt, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor of the University of Minnesota-Rochester and a national expert in undergraduate teaching and learning, for two events related to the Core's Collaborative Inquiry requirement. A lecture is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20, and a workshop will take place Friday, Feb. 21.
02/07/25- The SLU Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) has officially announced the implementation and projected timeline of the new electronic IRB submission system. The new system will go live Monday, March 3, 2025.
02/07/25- The National Science Foundation (NSF) in Innovations in Graduate Education Program (IGE) Program is designed to encourage the development and implementation of bold, new, and potentially transformative approaches to STEM graduate education training. There are two slots open, and the internal deadline for applications is Thursday, Feb. 20.
02/06/25- There were no undergraduate or graduate classes for most programs on Wednesday, Feb. 5, for the Spring 2025 Wellness Day. A number of events were planned on campus for members of the University community.
02/06/25- The FASPE Symposium on Business and Medical Ethics will be Saturday, March 8, at the University of Chicago's Gleacher Center. The symposium is co-sponsored by the Bander Center for Medical Business Ethics.
02/06/25- Researchers are seeking international graduate students to participate in an important research study titled "SHIFT (student health, inclusion, and food transition)." This study aims to assess whether graduate students' basic needs, such as access to food, housing, and essential resources, are being adequately met.
02/06/25- The campus community is encouraged to attend to celebrate the achievements of SLU's graduating students at the Senior Legacy Symposium on Tuesday, April 29. The event will feature works from students who will be nominated by the department/program to participate in this annual exhibition of student scholarly and creative work.
02/06/25- Saint Louis University Career Services is now collecting Scholarly Undergraduate Research Grants and Experiences (SURGE) project submissions for the upcoming Academic Year 2025-2026.
02/05/25- SLU's Division for Mission and Identity invites faculty and staff to participate in the Shared Mission program at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, in the Pere Marquette Gallery.
02/04/25- Tassos Kaburakis, Ph.D., from the Chaifetz School of Business, and Dimitra Tziarli, from the School of Social Work, are actively recruiting International Student-Athletes (ISAs) to participate in their ongoing study related to mental health and overall well-being.
02/04/25- Omkara, Saint Louis University's Indian classical dance team, recently took part in a national competition against seven other university dance teams at the first competition of the season hosted by North Carolina State University's Navarasa in Raleigh, NC. In just their second year of national competition, the team earned its first-ever trophy by placing second.
02/03/25- Employee Well-Being and SSM have partnered to provide SLU employees with two mammogram days. The days will be Wednesday, Feb. 26, and Wednesday, March 26.
02/03/25- The Emerson Leadership Institute at Chaifetz School of Business launched the Dignity-Based Leadership Development Series for the 2024-2025 academic year in the Fall of 2024. The series continues with a professional development workshop on Leading Change from the Middle - A Dignity-Based Approach to take place on Friday, Feb. 14, in L30 in Cook Hall.
01/31/25- The SLU community is invited to enjoy a vocal masterclass and concert featuring the work of SLU Music students in collaboration with Canadian baritone Giuseppe Spoletini. The masterclass takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, at 12:45 p.m. The concert is on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.
01/30/25- There will be no undergraduate or graduate classes for most programs on Wednesday, Feb. 5, for the Spring 2025 Wellness Day. A number of events have been planned on campus for members of the University community.
01/29/25- As part of the St. Louis Literary Award series of programs honoring the 2025 award recipient Colson Whitehead, the Saint Louis University 2025 Campus Read Speaker Series will focus on his award-winning work "The Underground Railroad."
01/29/25- To create space for the Parking, Card and Transportation Services team to more efficiently complete parking requests, ID card production and transportation coordination, the office will be changing its hours. The change will begin on Monday, Feb. 10.
01/28/25- As part of Black History Month, Saint Louis University will host Lights of Remembrance, the first candlelight vigil to formally honor the lives of enslaved individuals who helped build and sustain the University and other Jesuit missions in Missouri from 1823 to 1865. Scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, the vigil will take place in the auditorium of SLU’s Center for Global Citizenship. The event is free and open to the public.
01/27/25- The Albert Gnaegi Center for Health Care Ethics at Saint Louis University will host its 12th Annual Health Care Ethics Research Conference on Friday, April 11. The SLU community is invited to participate either as a presenter or attendee.
01/27/25- Researchers involved in basic/clinical TB/HIV research are encouraged to submit an abstract to present a talk or poster at the 9th Annual St. Louis TB Symposium, hosted by Saint Louis University School of Medicine's Division of Infectious Diseases, Allergy and Immunology and Washington University School of Medicine. The event will occur on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
01/27/25- Students may apply for the fellowship awards for exam preparation or research starting Monday, Feb. 3. Faculty, staff, peers, and undergraduates may nominate graduate students for recognition awards today.
01/27/25- The Paul C. Reinert, S.J. Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning will host a workshop series for faculty in February. The series will focus on how to deal with academic disruptions like the move to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
01/27/25- Since 1977, the Saint Louis University Women's Commission has selected outstanding University community members to be honored at an annual springtime luncheon. The honorees include administrators, faculty, staff and students who are recognized for their contributions, commitment and lives of service to the University and their community. Nominations are due Friday, Feb. 28.
01/24/25- The DeNardo Education and Research Foundation invites applications from individuals for initiatives relating to the health sciences for funding to be utilized in 2025 through 2027.
01/24/25- The Reinert Center is currently accepting applications for its Ignatian Teaching Fellowship. Fellowships are for a two-semester period, with course development taking place in the first semester and teaching in the Learning Studio taking place in the second semester.
01/23/25- This February and March, the Office of Admission will conduct virtual interviews with candidates for Saint Louis University's prestigious Presidential and Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarships. All University faculty, staff and alumni are invited to volunteer in the interview process. Interviews will be conducted virtually through an online portal called "StandOut."
01/21/25- Join Dean of Libraries & Museums Jennifer Nutefall for the first annual Libraries & Museums Update. The update will be held on Monday, Feb. 17.
01/21/25- The Reinert Center is offering Winter Institute Wednesdays, a workshop series for faculty that will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Zoom. This workshop series will highlight a shared set of definitions and approaches surrounding neurodiversity and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
01/16/25- Colette M. Taylor, Ph.D., a professor from Seattle University, will lead an interactive symposium on engaged scholarship from noon to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Vitale Boardroom, Cook Hall. This session, grounded in the NSF SU Advance Partnership Grant is a collaborative effort between Gonzaga University, Saint Louis University, and Seattle University and will delve into rigorous methods for evaluating and documenting engaged scholarship at Jesuit and Catholic institutions, emphasizing the impact of this work.
01/15/25- The Saint Louis University Chess Team took home a third-place finish at the 2025 Intercollegiate Chess Championship. With the finish, SLU's A Team qualified for the President's Cup which takes the top 4 finishers of the Intercollegiate Chess Championship every year. The President's Cup will take place in April. SLU won the Cup in 2022.
01/14/25- The University community has the opportunity to provide feedback during a 30-day comment period on two policies. The policies deal with leave and logos.
01/14/25- The Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources and the Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning are now accepting registrations for a course on the topic of Universal Design and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This two-week course runs from Tuesday, Feb. 11, to Tuesday, Feb. 25, and is offered entirely asynchronously in Canvas.
01/14/25- The AHEAD Institute has introduced a credit system to support the research of all School of Medicine (SOM) faculty without impacting department funds. Through AHEAD's credit system, all full-time SOM faculty are eligible to use up to 50 hours (one credit) of AHEAD research support services per calendar year.
01/14/25- President-elect Edward Feser, Ph.D., and his wife, Kathy Feser, kicked off Saint Louis University's spring semester with a visit to campus. The Fesers met with faculty, staff and students on both the north and south campus.
01/10/25- Every winter, St. Francis Xavier College Church hosts a Winter Inn, offering emergency shelter to homeless men on Wednesday and Thursday nights from December through February.
01/09/25- The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital recently hosted the President of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Don Arnold, M.D. During his visit, Arnold addressed a range of pressing issues currently impacting anesthesiology, many of which have gained significant national attention.
01/08/25- Members of the SLU community may now submit nominations for awards to be given out at the third annual Black History Month Celebration and Awards Ceremony presented by the Cross Cultural Center for Global Citizenship. The event will be Saturday, Feb. 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Il Monastero.
01/08/25- The Cross Cultural Center for Global Citizenship invites all members of the SLU community to submit an event submission for Atlas Week 2025. The 25th annual Sam and Marilyn Fox Atlas Week will be held April 6-12.
12/19/24- The Emerson Leadership Institute (ELI) at Saint Louis University's Chaifetz School of Business and Barry-Wehmiller will co-present A Dialogue on Dimensions of Dignity, a fireside chat exploring the critical role of dignity in leadership and organizational culture. The event will take place on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in DuBourg Hall 240 (Pere Marquette Gallery) at Saint Louis University.
12/17/24- At the close of the day on Friday, Dec. 20, Saint Louis University will begin its winter break. Before looking ahead to the new year, SLU's award-winning photographer Sarah Conroy shares some of her favorite images she captured during 2024.
12/17/24- The Boeing Institute of International Business at Saint Louis University's Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business hosted the 2024 Bayer International Business Conference on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, drawing in over 150 attendees from across global companies, government, civic organizations, academia, and the public-at-large.
12/14/24- Saint Louis University celebrated its Midyear Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 14. Check out some photos from the event.
12/10/24- Faculty and staff, keep track of the new year with Saint Louis University's 2025 calendar featuring photographs and descriptions of statues located across campus. These complimentary calendars provided by the Division of Development are available to individuals and departments and will be provided on request through interoffice mail.
12/10/24- The SLU community is invited to participate in the Spring 2025 Theatre and Dance productions of "Secret Order" and "Ride the Cyclone." Auditions and technical interviews will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 15, and Thursday, Jan. 16, on the ground floor of Xavier Hall.
12/10/24- SLU's "Banner Self-Service" and "Internet Native Banner" (INB) systems will both be unavailable for everyone from starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, until 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. ITS will be performing maintenance on these systems during this time.

12/10/24- Saint Louis University will celebrate its newest class of graduates with its 2024 Midyear Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 14. The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. at Chaifetz Arena.
12/06/24- Registration for Spring 2025 Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training is now open. This program equips participants with the skills and knowledge to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health challenges in their communities.
12/06/24- Saint Louis University’s annual Three-Minute Thesis Competition, sponsored by the Office of Graduate Education, celebrates the research conducted by Doctor of Philosophy and master’s students. The deadline to apply is Monday, Feb. 3.
12/05/24- The Office of the Vice President for Research invites all faculty to nominate works by SLU faculty at the junior and senior faculty levels. Nominators (including self-nominators) should submit their nomination(s) and any supporting documentation in OpenWater by Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
12/03/24- The Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning is once again hosting the Winter Institute, an annual faculty development workshop held the Thursday before spring classes begin. This year's event, titled Teaching, Learning, and Neurodiversity, will be from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, in Il Monastero.
12/03/24- Research Resources Week will be held Jan. 6-14, 2025. The week features workshops, informational sessions, and discussions that aim to support research practices, outcomes, and more among faculty, graduate students, and postdocs.
12/02/24- Saint Louis University has completed year two of its four-year partnership with the Jed Foundation to evaluate and strengthen the University's mental health, substance misuse, and suicide prevention programs and systems for students.
11/27/24- Professional Notes is a round-up of awards, presentations, papers, and other professional achievements of SLU faculty, staff members, and students.
11/27/24- SLU Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Research is looking for volunteers for a Type 1 diabetes research study. Participants must be adults, age 18-65 years of age.
11/26/24- An Interim University policy is now active. The Interim policy is the Interim Civil Discourse, Speech and Expression Policy and can be found online.
11/26/24- The Division of Enrollment Management will host an open presentation and discussion of results from two surveys administered to the incoming fall 2024 freshman class. The event will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Dec. 11, in Busch Student Center, room 251A.
11/26/24- Starting Monday, Dec. 2, the DPS Card Access team will no longer process building access requests, card reader issues, or time schedule changes via email. All requests must be submitted and will only be accepted through a new online form system.
11/26/24- The 18th annual Senior Legacy Symposium will occur on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in the Busch Student Center from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This event regularly features the work of over 200 students and over 50 academic departments and programs.
11/26/24- There are several opportunities to celebrate the Advent season at SLU.
11/22/24- Blue Santa is returning to SLU. The Center for Social Action invites University departments, faculty, staff, and students to participate in this year's holiday drive by donating gifts or contributing virtually.
11/21/24- The Division of Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement and the Black Alumni Association at Saint Louis University teamed up to host the Black in STEAM Celebration and Awards Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024. The event recognized seven individuals.
11/21/24- Ask, Listen Refer, a free online training to help individuals recognize and respond to warning signs of suicide is now available as a Workday Learning Module. This quick and accessible program is designed to equip individuals with essential skills in suicide prevention.
11/21/24- The Office of the Vice President for Research has several project-based, annual internal award programs open for application. All three have a deadline of Saturday, Feb.1, 2025.
11/21/24- The Center for Social Action, Campus Ministry, and the Immigration Task Force of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis will be hosting an event with Ruben Garcia. The event will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, in the Anheuser-Busch Auditorium in Cook Hall.
11/21/24- The Saint Louis University College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate DEI Champion Award is given to recognize a graduating SLU senior in the college who has made significant contributions to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion.
11/19/24- The Saint Louis University Black Alumni Association will host its annual Holiday Bash on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The event will allow for mingling with fellow Black alumni, students, faculty and staff.
11/19/24- SLU's Dance Festival is this weekend. The Department of Visual and Performing Arts will present the work of some of SLU's most exciting student dance groups all in one weekend.
11/19/24- Spectrum be upgrading its streaming service that supports the Saint Louis University campus. During the upgrade, there will be a Spectrum TV streaming outage on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. The streaming service will not be functional during this upgrade.
11/15/24- International Education Week, sponsored by the Office of International Services, includes events that invite the SLU community to view education from a global perspective.
11/12/24- The Emerson Leadership Institute at Chaifetz School of Business launched the Dignity-Based Leadership Development Series for the 2024-2025 academic year in the Fall of 2024. The next workshop, Fostering Dignity and Belonging, will be offered to the entire Saint Louis University community on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
11/08/24- ITS will be upgrading the Degreeworks application on Thursday, November 14, from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m.

11/08/24- Embrace the wonder of the holiday season at Saint Louis University during Christmas on the Quad on Saturday, Dec. 7. One of SLU's favorite traditions, Christmas on the Quad is open to all -- alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents, family and friends.
11/07/24- Saint Louis University recognized its long-time employees at the 2024 Presidential Service Awards. A breakfast ceremony took place Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Wool Ballrooms at the Busch Student Center. At the ceremony, SLU saluted employees who have been at SLU for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years.
11/05/24- The Academy of International Business, Southeast USA Chapter (AIB-SE) held its annual conference on Oct. 24-26, 2024, at the Chaifetz School of Business on the Saint Louis University campus. The conference welcomed over 180 attendees from 28 different countries from around the world in academia and industry.
11/05/24- The Center for Social Action at Saint Louis University has received The Allstate Foundation's 2024-2025 College Service Grant. This funding supports the 1818 Community Engagement Grant Program, which provides grants to SLU students, faculty, and staff working alongside local nonprofit organizations to address pressing community needs. This year, a record-breaking 68 applications were received, and 18 impactful projects have each been awarded $1,800 in funding.
11/05/24- Free student tickets are available for the SLU Theatre and Dance production of "Three Sisters," adapted and directed by Associate Professor Lucy Cashion. The production runs Thursday, Nov. 14, to Sunday, Nov. 17, in the Xavier Hall Main Stage Theatre.
11/04/24- SLU.edu is getting a new look. After more than a year of work behind the scenes, the first phase of the refresh is scheduled to launch Wednesday, Nov. 13. On that day, visitors to SLU.edu will see a brand new homepage complete with new headers, footers, fonts and colors.
11/04/24- ITS will be performing maintenance on multiple systems. The systems will be unavailable for everyone during the listed service windows.
11/04/24- The Interprofessional Education Program at Saint Louis University is hosting its biannual poster symposium from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the foyer of the Education Union.
11/04/24- The Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies and the Crusade Studies Forum at Saint Louis University successfully hosted the Fifth Quadrennial Symposium on Crusade Studies from October 3-5, 2024, at SLU's Madrid campus.
11/04/24- The Studio Art Program is hosting an exhibit celebrating work by student artists. The celebration will take place on Friday, November 8 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the McNamee Gallery.
11/01/24- November is Native American Heritage Month and recognizes the history, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous Americans and their ancestors. To celebrate the month, the Cross Cultural Center for Global Citizenship will be hosting a celebration event on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Center for Global Citizenship featuring the Dineh Tah' Navajo Dancers.
11/01/24- On Oct. 23, Career Services and 14 students traveled to Indianapolis for the 2024 Career Trek. This trip allowed students to network, visit a new city, and explore new opportunities.
11/01/24- Voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 5, to take part in the 2024 election. After the polls close, the Center for Social Action and the Student Government Association, are inviting members of the SLU community to attend a nonpartisan viewing party to watch the election returns across the country roll in.
10/31/24- In this presentation, Cristina Sanz, Ph.D., and Alfonso Morales-Front, Ph.D., from Georgetown University will discuss their language development research during short-term academic immersion abroad. The event will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, at Morrissey Hall, room 0200.
10/29/24- Applications close on Friday, Nov. 1, for the Social Action Program and Trips over Spring Break. Trips go to New Orleans and the US-Mexico Border.
10/24/24- Bursting with energy, SLU alumna Tiffany Anderson, Ph.D. (Ed '94, Grad Ed '01), took to the stage in the Wool Ballrooms and talked about the importance of joy. Anderson delivered the keynote address at the Cannonball Conference on Thursday, Oct. 24. A packed crowd of SLU staff listened as the ebullient Anderson shared her presentation titled "Hardwired for Connection and Happiness: Mindset Matters."
10/24/24- The University community will mark the Solemnity of All Saints, a holy day of obligation in the Roman Catholic Church, with liturgies throughout Friday, Nov. 1.
10/23/24- Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and so is Turkeypalooza, Campus Kitchen's annual Thanksgiving food drive. Every November, Campus Kitchen receives donations of holiday food items that will be distributed to the St. Louis community. Donations days are Tuesday, Nov. 19, and Thursday, Nov. 21st, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Reinert Hall.
10/23/24- The recipients of the 2024-2025 cycle of the 1818 Community Engagement Grant Program have been announced. After reviewing 68 record-breaking applications, a team of SLU faculty and staff has selected 18 projects, each awarded $1,800 to make a meaningful impact in partnership with local non-profit organizations.
10/23/24- The Division of Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement is sponsoring 50 Saint Louis University students to attend the Facing Race Conference 2024. The conference will be Wednesday, Nov. 20, to Friday, Nov. 22, in St. Louis.
10/22/24- Physical Therapy students in the sixth and final year of their program need faculty and staff volunteers, who are considered to be mild foot over or under-pronators, to participate in an individualized foot and ankle evaluation and subsequent fabrication of a pair of foot orthotics.
