Women in Business Club Hosts 'From Campus to Corporate' Series
Saint Louis University-Madrid's Women in Business Club hosted a three-part professional development series designed to help students prepare for careers beyond the classroom.
The initiative, titled "From Campus to Corporate," concluded with a guest speaker panel held in honor of International Women's Day on March 8.
The final event took place in Viña Aula 1 and featured a panel of professionals connected to the SLU-Madrid community. The discussion included SLU-Madrid alumnae Alice Thomas, Belén Chiloeches and Katie Huber, along with María Bravo González, who also maintains ties to the University.
The speakers shared insights from their professional journeys and offered advice on navigating career changes, stepping into leadership roles and adapting to the increasing use of artificial intelligence in the workplace. Throughout the discussion, panelists encouraged students to embrace challenges and remain committed to personal and professional growth.
"They spoke about overcoming imposter syndrome, striving to become the best version of themselves, and the importance of staying curious and emotionally intelligent," said Kearney Liuzza, director of institutional advancement and external engagement at SLU-Madrid. "They also encouraged us to embrace every part of the journey — the good, the bad and the ugly — while continuing to grow both personally and professionally. I am so grateful for all their support of our students and being an example of how to be a woman for others."
The panel served as the final installment of the Women in Business Club's professional development initiative. Earlier events in the series included a résumé workshop led by Coca-Cola Human Resources Manager Grace Orie and an interview preparation workshop with communications Professor Daniel Chornet, Ph.D., both aimed at helping students strengthen essential career skills.
By organizing the "From Campus to Corporate" series, the Women in Business Club sought to provide students with practical guidance and mentorship while celebrating the achievements and leadership of women in the professional world.
Club organizers said they hope to continue supporting members in all aspects of their professional journeys as they transition from campus to corporate environments.
